Dr Sima Das completed her basic medical education from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. She did her postgraduate training in ophthalmology from Maulana Azad Medical College followed by a clinical fellowship in Ophthalmic plastic surgery, Orbit, Ocular oncology at the L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and a short fellowship in Ocular Oncology at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA. She has been associated with SCEH for 14 years and is currently the Director of Oculoplasty and Ocular Oncology services at Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital. The dedicated oculoplasty and ocular oncology clinic was set up by her at SCEH in 2009 and the centre since then has performed 15000 surgeries for oculoplasty and ocular oncology disorders . She is also the Direcor of the Medical Education department at SCEH. Her area of interest includes ophthalmic plastic surgery, ocular and adnexal tumors specifically retinoblastoma, orbital diseases and reconstructive oculo-facial surgery and ophthalmic medical education. She is an accomplished surgeon with a keen interest in training and has trained more than 30 young ophthalmologists in oculoplasty and ocular oncology disorders via long and short tern training programs. She has several publications in peer reviewed journals and has been activity participating in various national and international conferences.
