Who We Are
The Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in Mohammadi, Uttar Pradesh, was established in September 2010. In 2014, the hospital moved to its permanent location on land donated by Dr. G.D Agarwal who has been a staunch pillar of support to our medical facility in the region.Since then, Dr. Agarwal has also supported the expansion and development of our center, by adding two new floors for wards, renovating the Operation Theatre, and donating high-quality medical equipment such Phacoemulsification machines, a microscope, slit lamps, as well as furniture for the wards.
With this increased capacity and resources, our hospital in Mohammadi is able toprovide high-quality eye care services to the districts of Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Hardoi, in Uttar Pradesh- the most populous state in India, through our network of over 20 vision centers and 1 clinic which support the secondary center.In the 2023 calendar year the hospital was able to perform more than 10,000 surgeries and has been able to provide corneal and retinal specialty care to its catchment as well. The hospital functions on the cross-subsidy model of eye care delivery, providing free or highly subsidized eye care services to those who need it the most. It received NABH accreditation in2021.

Our Programs
EICHER
The Driver Care Program was initiated in April 2016 and is supposed to be in place till February 2024. This partnership between EICHER and SCEH aims to provide accessible and affordable, high-quality eye and ear screening and referral services to truck drivers, and other ancillary staff. This nomadic population is delivered care is through the major transport hubs frequented by them. The program was initiated in Delhi and currently it has the largest network- run in 16 states around India. Till date a total of 6440 camps have been conducted with a total OPD of almost 3 lakh people in the hubs, of which 1.65 lakh were drivers. A total of 29 thousand spectacles have also been distributed.
Seva foundation
The Seva Foundation, alongwith SCEH conducted the initial phase of Project Drishtifor almost four years, from July 2016 to February 2020. A pediatric school and community screening program, the aim was to increase access to pediatric eye care services, including school screenings, referrals to base hospitals, examinations, surgery, medicine, and follow up treatments. In its’ second phase which went on from February 2022 and went on till February 2023 the program aimed to provide long term eye care to children, expanding on the geographies previously being catered to. Facilities at existing vision centers were also upgraded to create infrastructure to support increased primary eye care delivery.
Standard Chartered Bank
Standard Chartered Bank and SCEH entered into partnership in January 2020 and are still working together to provide door-to-door screening services for adults across the catchment areas of all existing vision centers in the region.
Koshika Foundation
Between September 2016 and March 2023, the Koshika Foundation and SCEH have been partnering to provide free eye surgeries for the underprivileged sections of our society. Rural areas are also offered “Doorstep Relief” through free eye camps and procedures for which they are referred to the hospital.
