Completed his ophthalmology training at RP Centre, AIIMS in 1997 and FRCS from Glasgow in 2001. He was trained in public health at London School of Hygiene & Tropical medicine (LSHTM), London where he did his Masters in Public Health for Eye Care. Presently, he is Director Public Health and Projects in Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital network. and is also affiliated part-time with International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) at LSHTM, London. His area of work at SCEH includes planning, implementation and monitoring the quality of public health interventions carried out through vision centers, secondary centers and various projects. He has been instrumental in starting a program for ROP with Delhi government for Delhi Government hospitals on behalf of SCEH. The funding for this program came from USAID under their Child Blindness Program. With the support from Orbis, he is leading a district level program in Saharanpur for children eye care. He is involved in training medical fellows in Research methodology and eye care management fellows in public health and planning. He is one of the mentors in the eye-care management training at SCEH and has been a mentor on one of the online courses on global blindness conducted by London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including Lancet regional health, BMJ Open, BMJ Paediatrics Open, BMC, Ophthalmic Epidemiology and IJO.
