Profile

Dr. Namita Kumari is currently working as a Consultant at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi, in the Department of Oculoplasty and Ocular Oncology. She has completed her MBBS and MS from Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh. She has done a long-term fellowship in Oculoplasty and Ocular Oncology at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital and also a short-term observership at LVPEI. She has published 14 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals. She has also written book chapters on “Orbital retinoblastoma ” and “Visual and Prosthetic Rehabilitation of Retinoblastoma Children”. She has worked as a reviewer in the Journal “Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery” and is currently a reviewer in another journals ” Oman Journal of Ophthalmology “. She has delivered various scientific presentations at national and international conferences.  She also had experience of working as a Project manager for the USAID retinoblastoma project at SCEH for 2 years. She is also actively involved in the oculoplasty training of the residents and fellows and optometrist. She had a specific interest in, eyelid surgeries (Ptosis correction and eyelid reconstruction), Lacrimal surgeries, contracted socket management, correction of facial deformity post-trauma, Orbito-facial fracture management in collaboration with Maxillo-facial surgeon, and orbital diseases including thyroid eye disease.
