Dr. Manisha Agarwal has over two decades of experience in Vitreoretina and Uveitis. An alumnus of Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, Dr. Agarwal has done her Fellowship in Vitreoretina and Clinical Research.
Her experience is spread over a wide spectrum of sub-specialities of eyecare, which includes managing all patients of medical retina including diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration (AMD), retinitis pigmentosa, etc. and performing surgeries for retinal detachment, macular hole, diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membrane, cataract complications- nucleus drop/IOL drop etc. and patients with all pathologies of uvea including intraocular tuberculosis. She is the Secretary of Uveitis Society of India (USI) and Hon. General Secretary of Vitreoretina Society of India(VRSI).
She is a recipient of many prestigious awards like “Indian Society for Prevention of Blindness
Endowment Award” Best Lady Fellow in Vitreo-Retinal Award Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, Spirit of Humanity Award for Diabetes, Americares Awards, Mumabi-2011; Best clinical talk by Delhi Ophthalmology Society in 2014, Award for human resource development by the Mangolian Ophthalmology Society and Asia Pacific Ophthalmology Society- 2019. She has also won the Narsing Rao award for the best free paper by Uveitis Society of India. She is the first Indian to win an award for her work on tubercular granuloma in the eye by the prestigious IUSG.
She has made more than 200 presentations at various national conferences and participated in many international conferences. To her credit, she has co-authored many book chapters, some of which are:
