Profile

Dr. Julie completed her formative years in medical school, both MBBS and post-graduation in Ophthalmology in Assam. She has done her fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment from the reputed Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi. The driving force behind it was love for people and empathy toward suffering. She has more than 14 years of experience in the field of glaucoma and anterior-segment diseases. She is an expert in cataract surgery and has extensive experience in managing complicated cataract surgeries. She is also acknowledged for her proficiency in doing complex glaucoma surgeries and has a special interest in the management of pediatric glaucoma. She is a passionate trainer in cataract and glaucoma surgeries and an eminent speaker at state and national conferences. Dr. Julie is mostly seen around students, teaching, training, and mentoring them. ‘Training is a very noble way to help the right service reach the corners of the community.’ Her belief in them resonates with their confidence and the will to be the best of themselves. She heads the wet lab and the cataract training department at SCEH. She has published 40 research papers and has won several awards. She believes in collaboration and dialogue with peers as well as contributing to the domain with her knowledge and understanding, while simultaneously staying updated about the current advancements in her field of work. She is an amicable, honest, and hardworking person with a deep interest in and dedication to patients’ welfare.
