Who We Are
The Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Alwar, is located in Alwar city, Rajasthan, and was established in 2002. In 2022, the hospital received a grant from the Mata Shree Gomati Devi Jan Sewa Nidhi, Alwar, who contributed to the hostel infrastructure for the Allied Ophthalmic Paramedics. The hospital in Alwar has also received land from EICHER in 2023, and plans are being finalized for a bigger unit to be built there.
At present the hospital provides high-quality eye care services to the districts of Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dausa in Rajasthan, as well as parts of Haryana through a network of six vision centers (as of February 2024), which support the secondary center. The hospital functions on the cross-subsidy model of eye care delivery, providing free or highly subsidized eye care services to those who need it the most, and it received NABH accreditation in 2019.

Our Programs
EICHER
The Driver Care Program was initiated in April 2016 and is supposed to be in place till February 2024. This partnership between EICHER and SCEH aims to provide accessible and affordable, high-quality eye and ear screening and referral services to truck drivers, and other ancillary staff. This nomadic population is delivered care is through the major transport hubs frequented by them. The program was initiated in Delhi and currently it has the largest network- run in 16 states around India. Till date a total of 6440 camps have been conducted with a total OPD of almost 3 lakh people in the hubs, of which 1.65 lakh were drivers. A total of 29 thousand spectacles have also been distributed.
Seva foundation
The Seva Foundation, alongwith SCEH conducted the initial phase of Project Drishtifor almost four years, from July 2016 to February 2020. A pediatric school and community screening program, the aim was to increase access to pediatric eye care services, including school screenings, referrals to base hospitals, examinations, surgery, medicine, and follow up treatments. In its’ second phase which went on from February 2022 and went on till February 2023 the program aimed to provide long term eye care to children, expanding on the geographies previously being catered to. Facilities at existing vision centers were also upgraded to create infrastructure to support increased primary eye care delivery.
Koshika Foundation
Between September 2016 and March 2023, the Koshika Foundation and SCEH have been partnering to provide free eye surgeries for the underprivileged sections of our society. Rural areas are also offered “Doorstep Relief” through free eye camps and procedures for which they are referred to the hospital.

At 59, She Sees a Brighter Tomorrow!
suggest short heading for Lali Devi is 59 years old and lives with her family after she lost her husband. She is a native of village Meena Mohalla Bansur block of Alwar district, Rajasthan. She is surviving on widow pension. Despite loneliness and financial hardships, she was doing daily chores on her own instead of seeking sympathy or help from others. However, for the last two years she started having cloudy vision, at the beginning she avoided but it only grew with time. Now her daily activity started affecting and she was unable to do household chores properly. This also led her to avoid going out after sunset.
A while ago, she got to know about a nearby vision center Bansur Netra Janch Kendra, she visited on her own as there was no one to escort her. She undergone the screening process and was referred to 1Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Alwar.

She wasted no more time and visited the hospital in next few days. An experienced Vision technician examined her eyes and found that she’s suffering from Cataract. After few more tests, she was advised to undergo a surgery as soon as possible.
Fortunately, there was a slot available for next day and she also agreed to undergo the surgery. The procedure went well, she was provided necessary care and medication. In the evening the when the bandage was removed she was able to see clearly.
She thanked all the staff and gave her blessings, “I was so blessed to hear about your organization. Nowadays no one likes to help others but your organization not only treated me well but also provided food, transportation and accommodation along with free surgery. I would like to convey the message to all to get their eyes tested routinely and get necessary treatment. I am going to refer all the people who have some or the eye related issue to your vision center.
