Prevention of Blindness Week 2022: India has 12 million visually impaired people; expert says cataracts most common cause

According to the National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB), India is home to a third of the world’s visually challenged population. The country has around 12 million individuals with visual impairment as against the global total of 39 million. The Prevention of Blindness Week campaign is held from April 1-7.
