Dr. Monica Gandhi is a Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Consultant at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi. She is also in-charge of Digital Initiatives at the Hospital. She has an enriching career with 21 years of experience.
She pursued her MS at the prestigious Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi. She, further completed her Fellowship in Glaucoma Imaging Centre, Delhi, with Professor N N Sood.
Associated with SCEH since 1999 in Glaucoma and anterior segment services, Dr. Gandhi has been providing compassionate clinical care. She is a versatile surgeon well versed with the diagnosis, management and treatment of cataract and glaucoma.
Dr. Gandhi has a keen interest in glaucoma diagnostics with particular flair for the visual field analysis. She has also been actively involved in the training and fellowship program of the hospital. This includes academic interactions, surgical training, mentoring and research projects. She is a guide for DNB students in the thesis projects.
Heading the digital initiatives department with technological advancements to improve health outcomes, she has lead the implementation of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) in the Hospital.
Dr. Gandhi has presented in over 200 national conferences, workshops and CMEs as a faculty speaker, moderator and panelist, including international poster presentations in SEAGIG and ARVO. She has authored several chapters in books for glaucoma and basic ophthalmology. She is also credited with multiple publications in indexed and non indexed journals. She has been the Chief editor; M. Gandhi, S. Bhartiya (eds.), Glaucoma Drainage Devices: A practical Illustrated Guide published by Springer ISBN 978-981-13-5772-5.
Dr. Gandhi has also collaborated with Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University for a scientific study. She has championed Partnership of the hospital with Google for scientific projects in field of artificial intelligence and deep learning.
She is associated with DOS, AIOS, GSI through life-time memberships. Dr. Gandhi has been instrumental in leading the EMR project and its implementation at the Hospital including its training. Dr. Gandhi has also initiated the project on diagnostic enhancements in glaucoma including a deep learning project with a leading international IT company.
In her leisure time, Dr. Gandhi likes to solve Puzzle and mind games. She also has a keen interest in painting, reading, music and innovative cooking.
